Pretty good.

Thank you!

A pretty good little Metroidvania that was cool to play through in a couple of minutes. I really felt compelled to get all the gems and upgrades, but I definitely think that a few things could be improved.
First, I think that the art used was pretty cute, and I liked that the backgrounds for each section were a different color, but I think that the sprites could've been much cuter if an 8-bit style had been used (though I understand if that's not up your alley). I found the key in particular to look a little ugly (almost like a child had been chewing on the inside of it).

Gameplay-wise, I feel as though the creator did a great job! There were lots of cool puzzle moments that I had to take a minute to find solutions to. The only part I didn't like was that part at the end when you jump off the cliff and you can't see the bottom so you are forced to make a leap of faith and inevitably jump into spikes the first time. Troll moments just aren't my thing I guess. So overall a great game that won't take long to beat, I'd advise you play it through.

Notes for the creator:
1) Try out new art styles! The little keyman looked cute, but you should try making at least one 8-bit game.
2) I would've liked to use all my powers together more at the end for one more new section. I imagine that this didn't happen since it was for a game jam, but if you ever want to make another Metroidvania then I think you should add at least one more challenging section where players can use all of their newfound powers
3) You did great! Keep on keeping on! :D

Hey there, thanks a lot for the review :)

There actually is a story behind why my art looks like this. This was initially a team project, where I worked with an "artist". The first plans for this were to make it 8bit, but my "artist" was apparently incapable of making pixel art and preferred to make high rez traditional art so we settled on a base 64x64 compromise for all blocks.

However, I soon realized that this "artist" was ALSO incapable of making any art that wasn't stickmen figures so we had a disagreement and he just abandoned after a day of jamming.

I already had placeholder art of course, so what I did was try to refurbish it slightly to polish the lineart and add shading. But again, It was a jam game so I didn't have that much time. Hence the child-like sprites :p (and yes I know this key looks janky)

In the end, the art you see now is basically refurbished programmer art :p

If you check my itch or gamejolt link, you'll see that I've already experimented with many art styles BTW! https://adriendittrick.itch.io/

I will be slowly uploading more games to Newgrounds as I get time off from my current project!

Anyway thanks for the kind words and advice :)

It's a really fun game that reminds me a lot of the "Robot Wants" series that I used to play as a kid. The graphics were really nice and I think the creator could actually expand on this game if he wanted to make it into a bigger project. The humor in the game was pretty good, and even the sort of annoying jokes (like the Fairy and the Squeaky Shoes) were alright since the game was short. Considering this game was made in 48 hours I think you did amazing!

I played this game a lot as a kid and could never beat it until now! This game, and its two sequels of course, are among the best games in Flash History.
It's a really easy game and short if you're good, but there's something super addicting about continuing to play until you get that next glider or to glide a few feet more than you did previously. If you like this game I'd recommend ones like "Flight" (which is about a paper airplane) or "Fishing Girl" (which has the sort of slow upgrading style of gameplay that this game thrives on). Happy Gaming!

This game is among my top 3 Flash Games. Besides the fact that it has a really cool story, "The Company of Myself" also has an awesome puzzle mechanic where you clone your memories in order to beat the game. The last level is really fun, but it requires you to jump off the ledge continuously until you're able to jump off the heads of your memory clones. When showing my friends flash games that I enjoy, this is one of the first ones I go to, along with "Super Mario Crossover" and "This is the Only Level."

A very nice platformer that gets you to think outside of the box! I love playing this one and showing it to all my friends, so I know you'll like it too. There are also more games in this series, so check them out!

This game was well made, well executed and is a great representation of justice.

Pt. 2 plz

Puyo is a 2D digital artist who has loved flash games since he was a kid. He's hoping one day to make a flash game of his own. Puyo's 3 favorite Flash Games are "The Company of Myself" "Stick War" and "Learn 2 Fly"
